JOB OBJECTIVE

Lead the iSTEM Geauga Early College High School with a quest for excellence for each student, a passion for continuous school improvement in collaboration with staff, be responsive to students’ needs, and incorporate parent assistance in support of the continued growth and possibilities for students at iSTEM Geauga Early College High School. Through instructional leadership, provide quality STEM educational experiences that prepare students with necessary technical skills, project based learning, mastery competency based performance assessments, employability skills, exposure to career and technical education and opportunities to enroll in college credit plus academics to graduate with college and career opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Core Values of iSTEM Geauga Early College High School
  • Participates and collaborates with other school personnel in the Ohio Stem Learning Network
  • Maintains a close professional relationship with Geauga ESC
  • Assists in creating dynamic and working partnerships between iSTEM Geauga Early College High School and Auburn Career Center
  • Participates in developing partnerships with school districts, businesses, agencies and other community agencies
  • Assists in promoting a positive and informed public perception of iSTEM Geauga Early College High School services, programs, outreach, business partnerships and especially the success of iSTEM students.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of school finance and fundraising
  • Assists in helping iSTEM Geauga Early College High School remain competitive and on the cutting edge of new and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborates with staff to create a viable recruitment program that includes shadow days, discovery nights, information sessions, and other marketing strategies to forecast the enrollment for entrance for the following year before March 1st.
  • Fosters a team spirit and professional community of service to students, parents, partners, and one another to establish a school known by its adherence to STEM philosophy and individual learning.
  • Abstain from the use of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the school.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current/Valid Ohio Department of Education Teachers License or certificate appropriate for the assignment.
  • Meets all mandated health requirements (e.g., a negative tuberculosis test, etc.).
  • Documentation of a clear criminal record check
  • Master’s degree in Education for Principal/Administrative licensure
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies and building and department procedures
  • Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people
  • Knowledge in Apple, Google and Microsoft Office applications

Short Term and Long Term Educational Assistants

Classroom Educational Assistants are sought for long term (9 month) assignment to specialized PreK through 12 classrooms. Preferred candidates will have experience working in structured settings providing academic and behavioral support. Preferred candidates must be capable in the use of basic technology. Applicants may also apply for short term assignments which are 5 consecutive days or less in a single setting. ODE Certification is required for short and long term positions.

Moderate/Intensive Intervention Specialist
Moderate/Intensive Intervention Specialist – Multiple Disabilities Classroom
The Geauga Achieve Program is currently seeking a Long Term Substitute Moderate/Intensive Intervention Specialist for the remainder of the 2015/2016 school year. Position responsibilities include daily instruction in core content areas following the Ohio Department of Education Standards/Extended Standards, daily supervision and behavior management for students, lesson plan development, progress monitoring, toileting and hygiene of students, and other necessary classroom functions. Qualified applicants must be able to complete the provided CPI training. Experience in TEACCH and ABA preferred. Application deadline 1/29/16. Geauga County ESC Parent Mentor
The Geauga County ESC Parent Mentor is the parent of a child with a disability employed by the Educational Service Center to help families in the 6 Geauga County Local School Districts by providing support, informational services, and trainings.

Program Services

Guide families through the special education process, including rights and responsibilities.

Listen and provide support to families and educators on an individual basis.

Provide information and resources to families and school personnel on education laws, district programs and services; and community resources.

Attend Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and/or other meetings at the request of parents or staff.

Organize and conduct informational sessions or workshops based on the needs of families and professionals.

Build collaborative partnerships between families, schools and committees to benefit students with disabilities.
PRN Therapists
PRN Substitute Speech and Occupational Therapists for short and long term assignments, including emergency caseload coverage, compensatory service and home instruction.  Compensation is on an hourly basis which includes travel and mileage.  Assignments may be located throughout Geauga County.
